Door Cam

An elevator door cam is a mechanical component of an elevator door system that helps to control the opening and closing of the elevator doors. The cam is typically a small metal or plastic disc with a specially shaped profile that is mounted on a shaft at the top of the door. As the door moves along its track, the cam rotates, causing the door to open or close in a smooth and controlled manner.

The shape of the cam profile is critical to the proper functioning of the elevator door system. It must be designed to ensure that the door opens and closes at the right speed and with the right amount of force, while also preventing the door from slamming shut or closing too slowly.

Elevator door cams are subject to wear and tear over time and may need to be replaced periodically. Regular maintenance and inspection of the elevator door system, including the cams, is important to ensure that the doors operate smoothly and reliably. If a cam is found to be damaged or worn out, it should be replaced as soon as possible to prevent further damage and ensure the safe operation of the elevator.
